Hair Care Routine- The healthy Practices

A TO Z – A COMPLETE GUIDE TO “HAIR CARE”

Hair has a very important part to play in not only the overall appearance and the look of our body but also protects the skin beneath it. Here is a Complete guide to “Hair Care” to tell us what to do and what not to do, to get those Long, Luscious and thick hair.

On a daily basis, most of us knowingly or unknowingly do things that directly or indirectly affect our hair in a bad way and in return damage them. This leads to various problems as listed below.”

hair problems

PROBLEMS

  • Excessive Hair Loss / Hair Thinning
  • Dandruff
  • Pre-mature greying of hair
  • Split-Ends
  • Decrease in hair quality/ Rough Hair

These are the Major Problems that occur when Hair care is not taken seriously. The Major one being- “HAIR LOSS”.

Below is mentioned a Healthy Hair Care routine or you can say it is a holistic plan to follow that is a sure shot escape to all the hair problems that one can have, tapping the hitches from their root cause.

It is a 4 step process that you will need to trail , which are practically very easy to follow. Believe me the results will be more than satisfactory and to your liking.

THE 4 STEP AYURVEDIC HAIR CARE REGIME FOR TOTAL CARE

1. DRINKING WATER FROM A COPPER VESSEL, THE FIRST THING IN THE MORNING

Keep water filled in a Copper jug beside you preferably on a wooden table at night . Then drink this Copper charged water the first thing in the morning.

Many people drink copper charged water in the morning for weight loss, but not many people are aware of the effect that it has in curbing Hair fall issues.

The ancient texts exclusively mention that- “Copper can be supplied to the body by drinking water from a copper filled jar. Copper acts as catalyst for releasing the iron extracted out of the Red Blood cells that help in hair growth”.

Further, Copper charged water keeps the digestive issues (Stomach Gas) away, which is again a major reason for Hair Loss.

2. Eating Curry Leaves after freshening up

After brushing your teeth and freshening up:

  • Take 3-5 curry leaves in your mouth.
  • Chew it- By chewing it I do not mean, that you chew it 2-3 times and gulp it. NO. By chewing I mean you keep chewing it for 3-5 mins until it forms a paste/liquid in your mouth.
  • This helps in extracting juices out of the curry leaf, leading to maximum benefits.
  • Do not eat anything for at least 20-30 mins after it. Give Curry leaves the time it needs to work within your system

Curry leaves are a rich source of Beta carotene, Amino Acids and Anti-oxidants which provide strength to hair follicles. This is one the most sought after and effective food to stop hair fall and hair thinning.

3.Apply sour Buttermilk/Curd before taking a Head wash with a Natural Shampoo

The third step is nourishing your hair before getting ready.

  • Take a small amount of unsalted butter milk on your palm.
  • With your fingers, gently rub your scalp with it. Make sure to massage it evenly onto the roots of your hair.
  • Leave it like that for atleast-20-30 mins
  • Wash it off with a 100% natural shampoo and cold Water (Never use Hot/warm water on the hair, as they make the hair roots week)

Butter milk is an excellent cleanser. It also replenishes the roots of the hair with proteins and other vital nutrients making the hair stronger

Further spend the day well, taking care of your Hair.

4.A dose of “Amalki Rasayan” mixed with Honey just before sleeping

The Last Step to complete the “4 STEP FORMULA” in taking care of your Hair is:

  • Take 1/3 spoon of “Amalki Rasayan” and ½ teaspoon of Honey and Have It.
  • Do not eat anything after it. Consider it as your bedtime meal.
  • For best results eat this medicine at least 2 hours after dinner.

Amalki rasayan is made with a combination of Amla Juice and Amla Powder. It is a classical Ayurvedic Medicine especially for Hair Fall. ( The link to buy this product is mentioned below)

Apart from the above,  the following things should be inculcated as habits  for your hair care on a daily basis which will work wonders in the long run.

MUST DO HABITS FOR TAKING CARE OF YOUR hair

BALAYAM

This is a term known for “HAIR EXERCISE”. The word itself says it- “Bal + Vyayam”= “BALAYAM”. It is a part of “YOG”, that gives us relief from hair problems.

How do you do it?

  • Rub your nails together for 5-10 mins everyday on a regular basis.
  • This procedure should be done empty stomach. (NEVER DO IT AFTER HAVING FOOD)

The science behind it.

The nerves below the nails are directly connected to the scalp. Thereby regular rubbing of the nails kindles blood flow, oxygen and nutrients towards the scalp thereby increasing the blood circulation towards the head.

Benefits of Balayam

  • Helps in growth of hair
  • It is a great booster to reverse premature graying of hair.

• HAVING A PROPER NUTRITION RICH DIET

One of the major reason behind Hair loss/Hair thinning in both Men and Women is because of poor nutrition in the diet. Actually, the whole system of your body needs nutrients to keep working fine.

If there is a lack of nutrient intake, then somewhere the compromise is done, and that compromise is for the hair to make.

Actually your body thinks that it can do even without a single strand of hair and because of the lack of nutrient intake , the body decides to take care of other important body parts neglecting your hair are completely.

Hence, the solution is very simple- “Include all the Nutrient rich foods in your diet“, so that there is no scarcity in the nutrient intake and your body happily takes care of every part of your body including your hair.

Nutrients are a combination of –

  • Proteins – Foods like Kidney Beans, Chick Peas, Lentils, Black Chana, Paneer, Chicken are rich in protein
  • Healthy Fats* – Foods like Almonds, Cashews, Peanuts, Walnuts, Flaxseeds have healthy fats included.
  • Vitamin B- Foods like Brown Rice, Millets, Eggs, broccoli, Citrus Fruits are Vitamin-B rich foods.
  • Vitamin C* – Foods like Amla (Indian Gooseberry), Lemon, Oranges, Capsicum are good sources of Vitamin C.
  • Iron – Foods like Cauliflower, Cabbage and Green Leafy vegetables are good sources of Iron.

NOTE:

*Healthy Fats include Fat Soluble Vitamins like A,D,E and K – So if you remove fat from your diet , these Vitamins automatically get excluded. Hence , make sure to include healthy fat in your diet.

*Vitamin C helps absorb Iron  in the body. So the intake of both is important , even if you want to reap the benefits of one

ALSO INCLUDE : DHT blocking foods in your diet.

Increase in the levels of DIHYDROTESTOSTERONE (DHT)  is again a very important factor, which leads to Hair Loss- especially in men. Rise in the level of DHT is the main reason behind the Hair Loss in almost 90% of men.

DHT has the capability of shortening the Life-span of the hair follicles. It eventually chokes the hair follicles with the finality of shutting them down.

Hence the following should also be a part of your daily diet.

Fenugreek seeds, Almonds, Banana, Tomatoes, Carrots, Mushrooms , Mangoes, Coriander.

All in all, you need a well-balanced diet for proper Nutrition of your body and in return you hair will automatically gain the benefits.

TAKING MEASURES FOR PROPER BLOOD CIRCULATION IN THE BODY

As we all know that, it is because of the blood circulation that the flow of nutrients in the body takes place. So even if you are taking  healthy and nutritious diet and the blood circulation in your scalp area is low, your hair will tend to fall, because proper nutrition is not reaching up to the scalp.

MASSAGING/OILING YOUR HAIRDue to our busy lifestyle, we take Oiling of Hair too lightly and hardly take out time for it.

Oiling of hair has not 1 but many positive effects on our hair, the only condition being that we should know how to do it the right way.

For Oily Hair– Massaging your hair 1-2 times a week, 1 hour before having a bath is good enough

For Dry Hair- Massaging your hair 3-4 times a week, keeping it overnight and then washing it off in the morning will serve the purpose.

How do you do it?

  • Take oil in a bowl and warm it up.
  • Gently massage the oil in circular motions on your hair.

Which Oil to use?

It by any chance you are using a “Perfumed Hair Oil”, for massaging your hair , then rather than doing good to your hair, it will relatively “Harm”  them.

Hence use a Hair Oil which is 100% natural in nature. Which means it consists none of these:

  • No mineral Oil
  • No perfumes
  • No BHT
  • No TBHQ
  • Any other chemical for that matter.

Best Oils to Use are Mustard Oil, Coconut Oil or Almond oil in their pure form, without any mixed/added ingredients.

EXERCISE – Another very good way for better Blood Circulation is exercise. You can opt for doing any form of exercise for 15 mins regularly and it will improve blood circulation very drastically.

• BODY MASSAGE

You might be wondering what is the connection of Hair care with Body Massage?

Well, the connection is very deep , and we tend to avoid it, because we don’t know about it.

Actually, body massage is not only a great measure to increase blood circulation, but as per Ayurveda it is one those measures which is taken to balance the Vaat Dosha which is one of the major reasons for the loss of hair.

If you face problems like Bloating or Gas then it is because of the dis balance to Vaat Dosha in your system, which then leads to hair fall and one of the most effective ways to balance the Vaat Dosha is Body Massage.

Massaging your Body the right way.

Most of the people massage their body the wrong way. The right way to massage your body is “Moving your hands in the direction of your heart”.

Like when you are massaging your neck and shoulders your hands should move downwards and when you are massaging your legs and arms, then your hands should move upwards.

Massage your body 2-3 times a week and you will be surprised to see the results and the impact it has on your hair.

FOLLOWING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE FOR YOUR HAIR

Here are some tips to follow:

  • Washing Hair 1-2 times a week is good enough- Do not wash your hair too often as excess usage of a shampoo may strip off natural oils from your hair.
  • Conditioning your Hair- Never forget to condition your hair as conditioners are mainly used to seal the moisture in the scalp. Avoiding this step may lead to your hair being frizzy.
  • Combing your hair regularly- This not only styles your hair but also increases the blood circulation of the of the scalp.
  • Do not tie your hair too tightly all the time – Avoid doing it, as it creates unnecessary pressure on the roots resulting in Hair Loss.
  • Do not touch your hair too often- As this may lead to the transfer of dirt from your fingertips into your hair.

AVOID DOING THE FOLLOWING

•HAIR COMING IN CONTACT WITH HEAT

Heat in any form is bad for your hair. So avoid :

  • Hot Water Bathing
  • Excessive use of Hair Dryer
  • Usage of Straightening machines and Hot hair Curlers
  • Excessive exposure to the UV RAYS of the Sun

USAGE OF TOO MANY HAIR PRODUCTS

In today’s era, when styling of hair is a common practice, we at times tend to use too many hair products to experiment on our hair.

Try to avoid doing it, or else if it is necessary,  then do wash your hair and get rid of all the chemical prone hair products off your hair before going to bed.

•VIGOROUSLY RUBBING AND BRUSHING OF WET HAIr

This practice may lead to breakage of hair because they are most defenseless and become brittle when they are wet, that is why they can break really fast , if not handled with care.

Hence:

  • Don’t rub your hair vigorously when they are wet, just pat them dry.
  • Don’t comb your hair while they are wet.
  • Let them dry out naturally, without much of a disturbance and when they dry our partially  you can comb them gently.
  • DO NOT SLEEP WITH WET HAIR, that can also be really harmful to the hair.

TOO MUCH OF EMOTIONAL STRESS

This can also be one of the major reasons for Hair Loss.

Stress in the body increases a hormone called “Cortisol” in the body, which feeds on Protein , thereby reducing the protein in our body . Thus leading to Hair Fall and Graying of Hair.

Reasons for stress:

  • Excessive use of Social Media
  • Work Load
  • Pressure to excel in exams
  • Emotional turmoil
  • Thinking too much
  • Negativity all around

Relax:

  • Give yourself that much needed break
  • Enjoy the nature
  • Spend some lone time with your self
  • Do things that you love doing
  • Meditate
  • Exercise

Just be yourself and keep negative people at bay. Try to live stress free

  2. Too many have no knowledge of the fact that scalp therapy shampoos for fast hair growth (obviously with no sulfates, no parabens and no DEA) even exist. We all now may achieve longer hair and achieve more alternatives. Definitely worth looking into it.

When you’re looking into hair loss, damaged hair, preventing scalp disorders, fast hair growth, hair and scalp health more often than not, similar rules apply.

In general, you want to avoid hair products and treatments that include chemicals such as parabens, DEA or sulfates.

What’s healthy for your hair is healthy for your skin also.

Obviously your content above is spot on for various reasons. It steers away from the accustomed traps and errors most fall into: purchasing defective alternatives. Keep it up!

  3. People in my area have no idea that fast hair growth shampoos (of course without any sulfates, parabens or DEA) exist. Hair styling enthusiasts now may enjoy longer hair and possess more alternatives. For sure worth checking out.

If you’re considering alopecia, hair damage, avoiding skin disorders, hair growth, hair care at large, almost the same principles come to mind.

Generally, you want to avoid hair products and treatments that contain chemicals like parabens, DEA and sulfates.

What is good for your hair is good for your skin also.

Clearly your content on this page is so useful for so many reasons. It steers away from the usual mistakes and pitfalls too many fall into: purchasing ineffective alternatives. Keep it up!
